Performance Art Carlisle Evening

Tuesday December 5th 2006 – The Source Café – 6.30 pm onwards

Following on from the highly successful international Performance Art event in February this year, Matrix Art Projects in association with LANWest present a rich and varied programme of new work by artists working in the north of England.

The artists performing at this event will be:

Ben Gates: a Carlisle based artist, inventor and musical expeditionary.

They Break in Pieces: a dynamic group of performers who will be exploring the Source Café environment through sound installation and improvised performance.

Carole Luby: an artist who makes personally reflective performances creating a tension between audience, space and performer.

LANWest will be presenting ‘In Transit’, a touring project showcasing the work of emerging live artists in the region. Tonight they will be showing the work of Greg Foster, Jo Docherty and Sophia di Martino, demonstrating a range of styles including one to one performance and cabaret.

The event will be free but space is limited so an early arrival is recommended. The Source Café will be open for drinks and light meals throughout the evening.
