Sinisa Labrovic
With minimal use of expression Labrovic attempts to stage various realized metaphors of common phrases or sayings of the Croatian spoken language and considers the absurdity of literally translating language into gesture.
The everyday phrases, whose meanings have been worn off by frequent use, serve as a template for Sinisa to examine the relation between language and meaning, as well as the position of the artist within an institutional network and the dominant models of evaluating an artist's work.
Labrovic graduated in Croatian language and literature at the Philosophy Faculty in Zagreb. He occasionally works as a teacher and he makes performances and installations.
