The third Live Art Northwest collaboration between
Matrix Art Projects and In Transit
First performance will begin at 8pm
The programme includes performances by:
Simon Bowes Kings of England: Where We Live & What We Live For
In 2001 my dad went cycling with my mother in the hills near where they live. Halfway up a hill, he fell, having suffered a transient-ischenic attack (a kind of little stroke). Afterwards Mum told me that for one hour, he could not remember his name, nor where he was, nor where he lived. In 2008 I started a performance company with my Dad (who is now 74) with the aim of researching where he went in that lost hour. In "Where We Live & What We Live For" I will deliver a short lecture on family, love, loss, happiness.
Chris Fitzsimmons and Interruptors Past Indefinite
Someone once said that dressing up as the Pink Panther and talking about yourself smacked of self-indulgence underpinned by arrogance.
If this is true then Chris Fitzsimmons is in deep, deep trouble.
Katy and Peter Merrington The Compal Galaxie
The Compal Galaxie, model 870, is a computerised, talking, sewing machine manufactured by Brother and designed in the late 1970s. It is a machine that belongs to a particular time, to a robotic household appliance fantasy, its voice Miss Moneypenny in style and its beeps refined. Katy and Peter Merrington introduce their machine.
Krissi Musiol Making A Big Deal
Part confessional, part gin fuelled, all singing, all dancing crap cabaret. Self confessed gambling enthusiast Crystal Wineglass tells tall tales of Las Vegas, casinos and Rihanna.
Andy Wilson Burka Boy
Wearing A burkha, an outer garment worn by women in some Islamic traditions though not specifically mentioned as a requirement in the Quran, I shall ride an exercise bike, a device of western origin consisting of saddle, handle bars and pedals used for lower body muscle building while stationary rather than transportation.
On the same night at 6.30pm there will be a private performance for a limited number of invited guests. Email info@matrixartprojects in advance if you would like to be invited to this special performance:
Leentje van de Cruys Best Party Ever
The Best Party Ever is an intimate performance for 30 people featuring Anita, the alter-ego of Belgian actress Leentje Van de Cruys. The show is a funny and unusual take on what its like to be alone in a strange country. Anita is determined to meet some nice people at last, to fit in and have some fun, but she needs your help
(Invitations will be issued on a first come first served basis)
Tickets for the rest of the evening on the door from 7.30
