The Harrington Project is a regeneration initiative which focuses on the marina site of the small community of Harrington on the edge of Workington in West Cumbria. Harrington Marina Regeneration Action Group, a local charity have asked MAP to devise, manage and deliver a project which involves the local community in practical artwork, generates enthusiasm for public artworks at the marina site, and helps state the case for investment in the marina.

We have completed residencies in the four local schools and contributed to a celebration day involving the Harrington community where all the work done at the schools was on display. We organised and ran further workshops and activities throughout the celebration day.

We have also opened the project to the wider community through a residency which centred around the past, present and future of the Marina in Harrington. We are currently involved in the final stage: researching a proposal for the public artwork for the marina site.
