Matrix Art Projects

MAP is an independent artist lead organisation based in North Cumbria. We offer a portfolio of services for the support of visual arts practice in the region. We are committed to the development of high quality art projects which increase critical awareness of and access to contemporary arts practice in Cumbria. We devise, manage and deliver projects to commission for the public and private sectors and also generate our own initiatives. We contract experienced, freelance artists to work alongside us and emphasise the importance of creative teamwork, interpersonal skills, and professionalism on all our projects.

 

 

Residencies and Workshops

MAP works in partnership with other organisations to develop, manage and deliver residencies and workshops which increase public participation in the arts. This may be through direct involvement, or engagement in public events and artworks.

 

Artists Events

MAP facilitates events in Cumbria which promote current ideas and practices in contemporary art, bringing artists in to Cumbria, supporting artists to make artwork, and giving exposure to artists living and working in the region.

 

Services to Organisations

MAP is able to co-ordinate and carry out already formulated projects using highly skilled artists and models of good practice. We will also house a database of artists who have worked on MAP projects, as a resource for local organisations.
